A chatbot conversation flow template is the written map of a website chat: what the bot says up front, the buttons it offers, what each button leads to, what happens when the bot doesn't understand, and when a person takes over. Writing it before you build anything keeps the chat from going in circles.

This free Chatbot Conversation Flow Template Builder from LiveFixPro turns your answers into a step-by-step script you can give to your chat tool or developer.

It runs in your browser, and nothing you enter is uploaded or stored. It builds a script. It doesn't create or connect a chatbot. Don't collect payment card details or health information in chat, and don't enter customer details here.

What the builder asks for

  • Business name and the greeting message the bot opens with.

  • Quick-reply buttons. Add two to five. Each has a label, a bot reply and a choice of what happens next:

    • Show the reply and stop

    • Ask follow-up questions and collect details

    • Offer a booking or request link

    • Hand off to a person

  • Follow-up questions or a link for each button (one question per line).

  • When to hand off to a person. Tick the triggers that apply: the visitor asks for a person, mentions an emergency, has a complaint, asks for a price quote, or the bot is unsure twice in a row.

  • Handoff message. Include your hours or what happens next.

  • What to say if the bot doesn't understand, and a closing message.

What you get back

A plain-text conversation flow with a section for each step:

  1. [START] The greeting and the buttons.

  2. Each button, with the bot's reply, what happens next and any follow-up questions or link.

  3. [UNSURE] The fallback message, with a handoff after two misses.

  4. [HANDOFF] The triggers you chose and the handoff message.

  5. [END] The closing message.

  6. A test-before-launch list.

Copy it, download it as a .txt file or print it.

Test the flow before launch

The script ends with a short checklist. Run through it with a colleague:

  • Does every button lead somewhere?

  • Does every path end in a reply, a handoff or the closing message?

  • Does the handoff reach a real person or inbox?

  • Does any path ask for payment card or health details? It shouldn't.

Tips for a flow that works

  • Keep the opening buttons few. Two to five clear choices are easier than a long menu.

  • Say when a person will pick up. A handoff message with your hours sets the right expectation.

  • Plan for the bot being wrong. The fallback and the two-misses rule give the visitor a way out.

  • Send emergencies to a person. Decide in advance which words or choices mean "get a human now."

  • Say it's automated. Open the greeting by telling visitors they are chatting with an automated assistant, not a person.

How this fits with your answers

This template lays out the order of the conversation and the buttons. It doesn't write your answers. If you want a set of clear answers for your chat tool to draw from, build them with our AI Assistant Knowledge Base Builder and put the finished text in the bot replies.

What this tool is not

It's a script template only. It doesn't build, connect or test a live chatbot. Test every path in your own chat tool before launch.

FAQ

What is a chatbot conversation flow template?

A written map of the chat: what the bot says at the start, the choices it offers, what each choice leads to, and the points where it hands off to a person.

How is this different from a knowledge base builder?

The knowledge base builder writes the answers. This template lays out the order of the conversation and the buttons.

Can I use it to build a chatbot?

No. It builds a script. You give the script to your chat tool or developer, who builds and connects the chat.

What should the bot never ask for?

Payment card details or health information. The builder warns against both, and the test-before-launch list checks that no path asks for them.

Does the builder keep the script I write?

No. The script is built in your browser and isn't uploaded or stored. Copy or download it before you close the page.
