Halloween Promotion Planner and Break-Even Calculator
Plan a Halloween promotion for your small business: get a dated countdown to Oct 31 and see how many sales your discount needs to break even. Free tool.
If you're sorting through Halloween promotion ideas for small business, this free planner from LiveFixPro helps you turn the one you pick into a dated plan that counts down to Oct 31, then shows how many sales your Halloween discount needs to break even.
It's made for small business owners in retail, local service, restaurants and offices. Every number comes from what you type. The tool has no free-text fields, so there is nothing to enter but business totals and your plan choices. It runs in your browser, and nothing you enter is uploaded or stored. Estimates only, not a forecast.
A Halloween promotion planner with dates
At the top, a countdown shows the days left until Oct 31. If that date has already passed, it counts down to next year's instead. Choose a business type (local service, retail, restaurant, professional office or other) and tick the channels you use. All four are ticked to start: online business listing, email, social posts and website banner. Then press Build my Halloween plan.
You get a table of dates and steps. The plan starts about two weeks before Oct 31, and you can shift the dates to suit your business. Every plan includes three steps: decide your offer and run the calculator about two weeks before, check that your register or booking tool applies the discount correctly five days before, and count sales and compare them with your break-even numbers the day after. Each channel adds its own steps, such as a teaser, the offer post, a reminder and your Oct 31 hours. A step whose date has passed is shown as "Now" and marked due now.
The break-even calculator
Enter your own numbers:
Average selling price
Your cost, entered as a cost per sale or as a gross margin percentage
Discount, as a percent or as a dollar amount
Normal sales in the promo period, as a whole number
Extra promo spend (optional)
Then press Calculate break-even.
What you get back
Margin per sale now, and as a percentage
Price after discount
Margin per sale after discount
Normal gross profit for the period
Sales needed to match normal gross profit, and the extra sales that means
If you entered extra spend, the sales needed to cover it too
The result if sales stay at normal volume
The tool warns you if your normal margin is zero or below, if the discount takes your margin to zero or below (so extra sales can't break even), or if normal volume would lower your result. If a field is blank or not a plain number, it tells you what to fix.
Use Copy, Download CSV or Print to take it with you. Copy and CSV ask you to build the plan or run the calculator first. Clear resets the form.
Before you rely on the numbers
Use your own current numbers for price, cost and normal sales.
Check your tools. Make sure your register or booking tool applies the discount the way you planned.
Remember what it doesn't do. It doesn't predict sales, and it doesn't know your customers.
Treat the results as estimates. Estimates only, not a forecast.

FAQ
How do I turn Halloween promotion ideas for small business into a plan?
Pick the offer you like, then use the planner. Choose your business type and channels, and it builds a dated plan that counts down to Oct 31. The calculator then shows how many sales your discount needs.
How does the break-even calculator work?
You enter your average selling price, your cost or margin, your discount and your normal sales for the promo period. It works out your normal gross profit, then divides it by the margin per sale at the discounted price, rounded up, to show how many sales you'd need to match it. Extra promo spend is added to the amount to cover.
Does it predict how many sales my promo will bring?
No. It shows how many sales you would need. What you actually get depends on your business, your offer and your customers. Estimates only, not a forecast.
What happens if my discount is too deep?
If the discount takes your margin per sale to zero or below, the calculator says no number of extra sales can break even. It also warns you when your normal margin is zero or below, or when normal volume would lower your result.
Is anything I type uploaded or stored?
No. It runs in your browser, and nothing you enter is uploaded or stored. Copy the results, download the CSV or print before you close the page.
