Holiday Hours Sign Maker and Template
Make a printable holiday hours sign template. Pick holidays, set closed, open or special hours, then print or download a PNG. Free, nothing stored.
A holiday hours sign tells customers which days you are closed or open, so they know before they call or make a trip. This free holiday hours sign template maker helps a U.S. small business put one together in a few minutes. Type your business name, pick the days to show, and mark each one as closed, open regular hours, or open with special hours.
The tool lists the U.S. federal holidays following the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) list for 2026 to 2030, plus optional extra days such as Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and Black Friday. Add your own days and rename any of them, for a Thanksgiving hours sign, a Christmas hours sign or a closed for the holidays sign. Federal dates can change, so confirm them on the OPM page and check the extra dates too. OPM lists holidays for federal employees only; your business chooses its own days and hours.
Choose a template and a size: letter, letter landscape, a 5 by 7 inch door sign or an 18 by 24 inch poster. Download a PNG, or print it or save it as a PDF from your browser’s print window. It is a sign maker, not a planner or a countdown. Planning holiday promotions too? See the 2026 Holiday Marketing Calendar for Small Businesses.

Frequently asked questions
Where do the federal holiday dates come from?
From the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) federal holidays list, covering 2026 to 2030 in this tool. Dates can change, so confirm them on OPM’s page and edit any date here. Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, Black Friday and the other extra days are not federal holidays, so this tool calculates their dates. Confirm those too.
Does my business have to follow the federal holiday list?
This tool does not decide that for you. The OPM list is for federal employees. Your business chooses its own open and closed days, and you should check any rules that apply where you operate.
What if a holiday falls on a weekend?
OPM notes that when a federal holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, most federal employees observe it on the Friday or Monday. The tool puts the calendar date on the sign and shows OPM’s observed date as a note. You can change any date to match your own plans.
How do I print the sign or save it as a PDF?
Click Print or save as PDF, then choose your printer, or choose Save as PDF as the destination in the print window. You can also download the PNG and print it anywhere. For poster size, a print shop can print the PNG.
Is my business name or hours saved or sent?
No. The sign is drawn in your browser.
Can I get this as a Word or Google Docs template?
No. This tool makes a sign you can download as a PNG, or print or save as a PDF from your browser. It does not create Word or Google Docs files.
